Here she is, our flagship of the fleet, our first lady of the sea: Ambience. Derived from the French word for ‘surrounding’, our ambition at Ambassador is to create the optimum atmosphere onboard; one that brings out the best in each of us. The perfect ambience.
With an average 1,400-guest capacity and careful configuration, she offers both a feeling of spaciousness and freedom, whilst retaining that sense of intimacy and camaraderie we each crave; it’s whatever makes you comfortable.

Your home-from-home, your humble abode on board, your cabin accommodation is where we want you to feel most comfortable. This is your restful haven that you can look forward to returning to after an exciting day ashore or a busy day at sea, where you can escape and rejuvenate during your trip.
We offer a range of cabins spanning seven accommodation decks from the Aloe deck 4 up to the Ambassador deck 11. We have 20 twin and single cabin categories to suit a wide range of preferences and pockets. Our cabins are more spacious to cater to today’s climate, averaging 17-18 square meters, with cabin types broadly classified as standard, superior, premium or de-luxe. Our dedicated housekeeping team clean cabins once a day with an evening turn down service and provide 24-hour room service at a supplementary cost. All our cabins are air-conditioned with en-suite facilities including a shower and ample storage space with room under the beds to store suitcases. Most suites also have a bathtub.
All cabins have a range of impressive amenities and personal touches. Make yourself at home with tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge, and take advantage of the hair dryer, personal safe, UK three pin electrical sockets and USB ports. There is also a flat screen TV for all your entertainment needs, including a range of house movies, news, documentaries and ship information channels. So why not sit back and watch the ship position and routing from the comfort of your own cabin?
With the exception of Aloe deck 4, which has 14 cabins with one lower and one upper berth, all cabins are of twin lower bed configuration (some with fold-away upper pullman berths or sofa beds) and in most cases can be converted to double beds.
Navigating your way to and from your cabin is easy, with three spacious main foyer areas on all decks (except Aloe deck 4) serviced by 9 lifts and stairways. Aloe deck 4 has two foyers serviced by 6 lifts.
There are 13 cabins adapted for guests with disability and mobility needs and 40 cabins with interconnecting doors, both highlighted below and on the deck plan.
Welcome to the suite life
If you’re after a little taste of luxury on your journey with us, we have a range of cabin suites that provide the space and amenities to make your cruise that extra bit special. Both our De-Luxe and Junior Suites are located on Ambassador deck 11 and come with their own private balcony and sitting area.
So, what makes the suite life so special? All our suites include priority embarkation and luggage delivery for a seamless and hassle-free arrival. We’ll say welcome and whet your whistle with a complimentary bottle of house wine and mineral water, alongside your chargeable mini bar. For lazy mornings at sea there is a breakfast in bed tray and a cosy bathrobe and pair of slippers to relax in. You’ll have fresh fruit and daily canapes on hand. We’ve also got you covered whatever the weather with your own umbrella to use on shore as well as a pair of binoculars to help you see as far as your heart desires and a world atlas. Our suite guests are also entitled to a laundry service discount and a late check-out.
Located on Consulate Deck 10, there are 40 Superior Balcony twin cabins and they can all be converted to a double bed.
Located on Ambassador Deck 11, there are 36 Junior Suites with a private balcony and sitting area. They have twin beds and a majority can be converted to double bed, and also have a double sofa/rollaway bed that may accommodate a third and/or fourth guest. All suites offer en-suite facilities with bath and shower above and large hanging and storage space. Cabins 11138 and 11139 are equipped for guests with specific mobility limitations and their companions. These cabins are twin occupancy and have a shower only en-suite.

For your greater convenience, we operate an automatic service charge and gratuity system whereby an amount of £6.00 per person per night (this amount reduces to £5.00 per person per night for cruises of 16 nights or more) is automatically added to your onboard account.
All service charges and gratuities are collated, so a portion goes to each crew member, who helps to make your cruise special. This is not only distributed to your cabin steward and your waiter or bar attendant but also between the hidden stars behind the scenes, such as laundry operatives and kitchen staff, who you might never get to meet in person.
If you notice an issue that makes you think twice about our service charge, be sure to speak with one of our Guest Services Team who will try to resolve the matter before a charge adjustment becomes necessary. Even if you had a negative experience with a particular employee, seriously consider whether it warrants removing your gratuities altogether, keeping in mind that because of one crew member the whole team is affected. Of course, if you want to also reward a crew member personally in addition for excellent service, feel free to do so!
If you purchase one of our Ambassador Drinks Packages, gratuities are also included. However, please note that the gratuity contribution cannot be removed from any of the packages.
If you or one of your travelling companions has a mobility limitation or require special assistance, you must contact our office to allow us to discuss your requirements before you make a booking. Firstly though, please read the panel headed ‘Maritime Passenger Rights’ within the Booking Conditions as this contains important information. In the interests of safety, and to ascertain whether you or members of the party travelling with you have specific mobility or other assistances needs, you will be asked a series of questions. The answers to these will enable us to determine that you, any other person in your booking, and any equipment that you or they are intending to bring on board can be carried safely for the duration of your cruise. This will then be confirmed in writing to you and will enable your booking to proceed. A cruise is quite unlike a land-based holiday and the ships of our fleet are not ideally suited to prospective guests in wheelchairs or those who have limited mobility. It should be noted that the layout of the ship could considerably restrict such guests’ movement around the vessel and indeed preclude access to some of the ports of call, where gangway conditions are not conducive, or guests are conveyed ashore by tender. At anchorage ports, access to or from the tenders or launches requires a certain level of mobility which is necessary to manage the steps to the tender platform and to physically board and disembark from the vessel. It should therefore be noted that, on safety grounds, those with restricted mobility may be unable to go ashore at such ports.
All guests who wish to use a mobility device onboard the vessel must occupy a Disabled cabin. We have 13 of these cabins onboard. In addition to this, we also welcome guests who wish to bring a lightweight wheelchair/scooter with them for shore use only however, these must be stored in your cabin at all times and cannot be used on board the vessel in any circumstance. If you or one of your travelling companions has a mobility limitation or require special assistance, please contact our office to discuss your requirements before you make your booking.
For further information, you can also view the Special Assistance section of our website.
During the day, we suggest that you wear casual clothing for your comfort. For the evenings on board, every day the Daily Programme suggests, as a guide, a mode of dress for that particular evening’s events.
There are generally two ‘formal’ or gala nights planned every 7-12 nights when many gentlemen wear dinner jackets, although a lounge suite is quite acceptable. Ladies on these occasions have a chance to dress up and often opt for evening or cocktail dresses. Please note that jeans, T-Shirts and open neck shirts are not permitted in the main restaurant on Formal or Gala evenings.
On evenings proposed as ‘smart’, a suit or smart jacket and trousers, with or without a tie, for the men is suggested and the ladies have further opportunities to look elegant in cocktail dresses or trouser suits.
A ‘casual’ recommendation often covers evenings spent in port or when a special event such as a deck party is scheduled. In these cases, the choice of dress is left entirely to you.
Whether you’re travelling alone or just want your own space, we have a number of cabins dedicated to single occupancy. These range from Superior Inside Single on Consulate deck 10 to Standard Ocean View Single on Aloe deck 4 to Superior Ocean View Single on Consulate deck 10, Premium Ocean View Single on Ambassador deck 11 and Super Plus Balcony Single on Consulate deck 10.
And if you are travelling with us with any disability or mobility needs, we offer a range of cabins with these requirements in mind. The following rooms have been adapted to accommodate:
De-Luxe Suite 11116 (Oslo), Junior Suites 11138 and 11139, Standard Twin Obstructed View Cabins 8101, 8103, 8104 and 8106, Premium Twin Inside Cabins 11105, 11122, 11124, 11125 and 11129 and Standard Plus Twin Inside Cabin 8109.
All prices onboard our ships are quoted in sterling. A cashless system is in operation for all your onboard purchases. An account is opened for you at the start of your cruise for purchasing goods and services on board. All purchases are charged to your shipboard account and a final invoice is presented at the end of the cruise itemising all charges. This can be settled by MasterCard or Visa credit cards, or by Visa debit cards. Guests who prefer to pay by cash may top-up their cruise card by visiting reception.
Guests wishing to charge onboard expenditure to their credit card must register their chosen card during the embarkation process. Your card will be pre-authorized for £150. This pre-authorization will appear on your bank statement as a pending transaction until the end of your cruise.
During your cruise we will top-up your pre-authorised or pending amount in line with your account activity. You can check your account balance at any time using the ALL ABOARD APP, or at the self-service kiosks located around the ship. Your account will be closed at 0300 hrs on the day of disembarkation, at which point your onboard balance will be settled automatically and any remaining pre-authorised amount will be cancelled within 24 hours. Please note any purchases made after this point must be cash only.
We offer car parking at the Port of Tilbury with prices starting from £6.00 per car per night.
Please note car parking must be booked at the very latest 2 working days before sailing and is subject to availability. You will not be able to pay on arrival if you have not pre-booked and will be refused entry to the car park.
